Our New Car
June 4th, 2007

So on May 20th 2007 we traded in my 2004 Toyota Tacoma for a brand new 2007 VW MKV Jetta Wolfsburg Edition.  Here is the first picture we have take of it.

We have been having a lot of fun driving around it in.  In fact we already have 750 miles on it in just 2 weeks.

Dinner last night
June 7th, 2006

So yesterday after work Kelly and I headed over to Whole Foods Market and went grocery shopping.  It was the first time going their, but I think we might make it there more often now.  I really liked the produce section and they have a wide range of vegetarian foods that both Kelly and I can agree on.  For dinner we picked up a can of vegetarian chilli, an ear of yellow corn (I wish we had got more), and green leaf lettuce along with tomatoes to make a salad.  The corn was so good, probably the best fresh corn I’ve ever had.  We grilled it on the BBQ for 5 minutes on each side after soaking it in water for 20 minutes and it was prefect!  It was an overall great meal.  After that we just relaxed the rest of the night.  Kelly worked on our wedding favors and I helped a bit with that.  We are really looking forward to having our couch, it gets delivered today!  It will be nice to actually be able to sit and relax in the living room instead of being uncomfortable on the ground.  Tonight I have my second to last softball game of the season.  We are currently 4-4 and hopefully we can improve on that tonight.

New Couch

So yesterday we went and bought a couch. We already pretty much knew the one we wanted, we just had to save up a little money to get it. After waking up and Kelly cooking us our own homemade egg mcmuffins we headed to “The Market Place”, which used to be called the “Tustin Market Place”, but I guess they wanted to make it more trendy and take the name of Tustin out of it. We went to Easylife Furniture and bought a new couch. we should be getting it delivered in the next 1-2 weeks! Can’t wait till we actually have something to sit on, besides the ground!

After buying the couch Kelly wanted to check out what they had at Ann Taylor Loft and she ended up getting this really nice brown a tan dress. I would show a picture of it, but they don’t seem to be selling it on their site.Next I was starting to get hungry so we went to Cafe Chin Chin, which was really good. We had never been there before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I ordered the 3 Pan Noodles which was delicious and Kelly got a Veggie bowl, which had great tasting mushrooms that Kelly let me eat, since she doesn’t like them.

Then we headed over to the Bergin’s to go with her parents to the Strawberry Festival, and no matter what anyone says, it’s the only real one. After getting some strawberry shortcake we headed back to the Bergin’s and Tony fired up the BBQ and cooked up some chicken and sausages. After a good dinner we headed back home and relaxed till it was time to go to sleep.

I’m at work right now, but at 3 I’ll head home and will be going over to the Bergin’s again for BBQ and celebrating one of our friends birthdays. Kelly is going to have a pratice session with my friend Jenn on how her makeup will be done for the wedding. So it’s a pretty busy weekend for us, but a nice one as well!

Wedding Stuff 2
January 18th, 2006

So this weekend we got a bunch more stuff done! Yesterday we got the tuxedos set up and I place my payment down for part of them. We got our cake all set up (we are using French’s Bakery and a down payment on it as well. We also were able to purchase drinking and champange cups from Party City. We changed our color from Periwinkle to just plain ole poweder/baby/light blue, since it’s difficult to find any place setting stuff in periwinkle. Things are going good. We still need to get a quote on the tables, chairs, and linens though and today we should be getting the catering quote.

Wedding Planning
January 11th, 2006

So, a wedding planning update! The date has been set! July 29th, 2006!

After visiting a couple different places that basically did everything for us Kelly and I came to the realization it just wasn’t going to be affordable for us to spend 8k plus so now we are doing the next best thing. Everything is going to be done at her parents house. They have a big back yard and there is enough space to get everything to work. Our “final” guest list, the one that we will be sending out save this date announcements to is 140. Kelly has already bought her dress. We talked to our DJ last night, he’s a friend of her brothers that’s known Kelly for years, he does it for a profession and has all the needed gear, plus the price is right. He offered to do it for free, but we insisting on paying him something so it’s going to be $100 for all day, he will be handling all the services and basically being our MC. We will of course be giving him a good tip on top of his charge. Also he’s related to someone at a local party rental place so we are going to be getting a better deal on our tables, chairs, and linens then we thought. Catering looks like it will be done by two women that are employees at my moms work, they do catering on the side and I know they do a great job. The price is going to be less then $10 a person and it will include serving the food. Inviations are still being looked into. We have yet to decide or even look into an officiant. Wedding cake searching will be done soon. Beer (3 kegs), punch, coffee, and maybe tea will be the main drinks, but we will also be getting Wilson Creek Champagne (which is really good) for our toast. On Friday I will stop by some tux shops and check on prices for tuxedos. We are going to need 7 tuxedos, mine, our fathers, my best man (who will be freshtastic73“Fresh” hopefully), and her three brothers. We won’t have bridesmaids. My uncle will be doing the photography. Flowers are going to be done by a friend of a friend, we’ve already met with them and it’s going to be about 120 bucks total. We are getting a bunch of great deals on just about everything. My mom and aunt will be working on decorations and lots of other things to make everything look nice. So that’s where we are so far.

We got engaged!
